Health Services

Robbinsdale Area Schools Health Services Department seeks to create and sustain a school environment that promotes and supports student health, well-being and academic achievement.  Research shows healthy students are better learners.

Students are expected to participate in all activities, including outdoor recess and physical education, unless an order is received from a licensed health care provider.  The order must include the reason for the restriction, length of restriction and health care provider signature. Thank you.

12/21/16 Community Health Update:
A number of pertussis (whooping cough) cases have been reported in the community.  Click here to learn more and how to protect yourself.

Nuturing Healthy Learners

  • Frequent hand washing remains the single most effective way to reduce illness!
  • Students need 8-10 hours of sleep. Promote healthy sleep habits.
  • Good nutrition is directly related to the ability to learn.  Encourage a healthy breakfast.
  • Good attendance is critical for learning. All students should strive for a 95% or better attendance record (one day absence per month average).
  • Regular exams with medical and dental providers help to prevent health problems. See your Licensed School Nurse (LSN) for available resources.
  • Daily physical exercise is important. Limit your child's electronic usage time.
